Exhibition sales and marketing manager

About the role

We're looking for an experienced Exhibition sales and marketing manager to lead sales activity and marketing campaigns for major international trade shows.

Working on behalf of one of Germany's largest exhibition organisers, you'll help UK businesses identify opportunities to exhibit, sell stand space and deliver campaigns that attract exhibitors and visitors.

You'll take ownership of the sales and marketing activity for your assigned events, from planning campaigns and developing prospects through to supporting exhibitors and reviewing results.

This is a hands-on role combining commercial responsibility, campaign management and relationship building. It would suit someone with experience in exhibitions or event marketing who enjoys taking initiative, working towards targets and turning plans into results.

You'll work closely with our client and the wider Sector Global team, representing their events in the UK and travelling internationally, primarily to Germany.

What you'll do

Exhibition sales and business development

• Develop and deliver exhibition sales plans to meet and exceed agreed targets.
• Identify and engage UK businesses that could benefit from exhibiting at the events you represent.
• Build a strong pipeline of prospective exhibitors, manage follow-up activity and convert opportunities into stand sales.
• Explain the commercial opportunities offered by each exhibition and help prospective exhibitors assess how participation could support their objectives.

Marketing and event promotion

• Plan, manage and deliver integrated campaigns to support stand sales, visitor recruitment and event awareness.
• Coordinate digital marketing, press activity and telemarketing, keeping messaging consistent across channels.
• Monitor campaign performance and use the results to improve targeting, messaging and follow-up.
• Work with the wider Sector Global team to align sales activity and marketing priorities.

Client and exhibitor relationships

• Maintain strong relationships with our client and provide clear updates on progress, opportunities and results.
• Support confirmed exhibitors with responsive, professional service before and after each event.
• Build long-term exhibitor relationships that encourage repeat participation.
• Represent our client at relevant UK events and international exhibitions.

Reporting and improvement

• Maintain accurate sales records, forecasts and campaign reports.
• Deliver post-show analysis covering sales performance, campaign results and exhibitor feedback.
• Identify practical improvements for future events and campaigns.

What we're looking for

• Demonstrable sales and marketing experience within exhibitions, events or trade shows.
• A proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
• Experience planning and delivering marketing campaigns across multiple channels.
• Strong relationship-building skills and confidence communicating with senior stakeholders.
• Excellent written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
• A proactive, commercially focused approach and the confidence to take ownership of your work.
• Enthusiasm for international business, trade and exhibitions.

Location and travel

This role is based in Clevedon, North Somerset.

Regular international travel is part of the role, primarily to Germany. You'll also attend relevant UK events and exhibitions.
